I began my flying journey in 2023, earning my Private Pilot Certificate in May, followed by my Instrument Rating in February 2024 and Commercial Pilot Certificate in October of that year. I fly for the love of aviation itself, and I plan on continuing my training towards a Flight Instructor Certificate so I can share that passion with new aviators while pursuing my engineering work.
Flying has brought a list of challenges on its own, but with that, it has strengthened several skills that directly support my work as an engineer. Managing real-time decision making, keeping ahead of the aircraft by maintaining situational awareness, and making several on-the-fly (no pun intended) decisions have sharpened my ability to think critically under pressure. Flight planning, weight and balance management, and interpreting weather data have reinforced my analytical mindset and my attentiveness to detail.
As I prepare for my Flight Instructor Certificate, studying the fundamentals of instruction has further developed my communication, leadership, and teaching skills. It is through all this that aviation has forged me into a man with greater discipline, accountability, and system-level thinking, all qualities I bring into every engineering project I pursue.
